What years will 1998 Jeep Cherokee parts work with?

I have access to a 1998 jeep Cherokee that has minor front end damage, and i was wondering what years this jeep with work with. I plan on buying another Jeep cherokee with say a blown tranny or motor and swapping the 1998 jeep cherokee motor for whatever year cherokee that will match up. HELP

I’m about to buy a jeep grand cherokee but they said it misfires when first started up but it drives perfectly fine. What could this have to do with the jeep? And how much would it be to replace what needs to be fixed?

They said it might be the spark plugs.
