A junkyard, but that is a LOT of work for an ol truck, Think about it. Think about all that wiring, heating and AC stuff going trhough the firewall. I'm think ing another truck is in order for the time spent on doing this.

junk yards.... but a new cab would mean ur vin numbers wont match your title in hand so ull be needing the other title as well or something. the vin numbers are matched to that cab. usualy there is a plate u can see driver side. u gotta stand outside of truck and look at windshield but look down at dash right at the very edge there is a vin number. if a cop pulls u over and they check this and ur title dont match it then you could get in trouble. other than that there might be some online places to sell parts for this truck. i no jc whitney sells brand new parts for the old gmc and chevy that was years of 80 to 85 and all diferent old models like that. u might look there site up im not sure. jc whitney is pretty goood.

Could be the ingecters.Or even just one of them. my Corvette was the the same way.So i replaced them and it ran like new.I know it's a diesal and the Vette are alot different, but my fathers moter home is a diesal pusher (rear engine) and he had problems with the ingectors.Plus in the cold buy a oil heater,it's going to replace the oil stick (dip stick) and in the morning remove warmer stick and put your other stick in,cause diesals are very hard to start in cold weather.

depending on the temperature you might have to heat the glow plugs more than once or plug the block in for a while usually 30 minutes to an hour before you try to start it

Your Dad is right.
The new trucks have the best and latest technology.
Your friend has nothing to back up his statement.

Your Dad is also very smart to buy a late model pre-owned. He saved thousands in depreciation.

Father knows what he's doing!
