Does Bosch Platnum work with Ford trucks?

I have 8 new Bosch plugs for my 02 ford van. My mechanic says they are no good for american cars or trucks. And I should use regular plugs instead. Is it true or not?

Has plenty of fresh fuel and fuel is getting to the seperator. Lost power all at once. Has relatively new alternator and batteries.
