Is it possible for a 08 Ford f350 to have so much fuel in the tank that the whole fuel pump has to b changed?

My ford truck had died out and the dealer said that water was in the tank but I thought the filter was suppose to seperate that kind of stuff??? Especially if it’s a 2008 model with only 1500 miles on it.

The filter in your powerstroke’s fuel system does have a water membrane on it, which is going to trap quite a bit of water from passing through it. But you have to keep in mind, the water reservoir on the HFCM can only hold a few oz of water. You have to drain said water out of it when the little light on the dashboard lights up.

You could have gotten a really bad load of diesel. I always recommend to diesel owners they fill up at major truck stops, where they go through diesel like hotcakes, and the diesel doesn’t have time to sit in the tanks for ages, undisturbed and collecting all that moisture.

As the others have said, if their is too much, you can leave the water drain on continously and not get all water out….

You will have to drop the tank to drain and refill
