With in the next few months I am going to buy a new or used truck. I want to get the higher end vehicle that can tow and be used in a working enviroment such as the 250 or 2500. I work on a Ranch and need a tow vehicle as well as a “hardy” vehicle. The four trucks listed are all that I have looked at and I like all of them. I want to know which is more reliable? Which is worth the price. Which is good at towing? Which is more prone to the auto shop? And other things like that. I am looking at all of the NEW vehicles that are avalible. Please let me know what you reccomend. Thanks!

i think the Chevy is the best value today for the money,i have owned and drove a Chevy for along time, and never yet has one let me down, and the ones built today are a lot more reliable than the older ones was,and right now Chevy is offering the best value and warranty on any new ruck of anyone ,but that’s just my choice, and my opinion on it good luck hope this helps.
Ford F250. I own 1992 with 134,000 and 1996 with 199,000 miles on them not many problem with either one of them.
2007 Toyota Tundra.
Absolutely the best truck out there. Exceptional reliability, they also hold their value very well. Repairs are very few and far between. It is great for towing and has great acceleration and deceleration while towing.
well here is MY break down:
Ford. in the shop WAYYYYY too much….seriously, the number one truck i work on
Toyota. i hear their good…relatively new….honestly i don’t know, but i like American made.. so *I* wouldn’t buy one. but just cuz i wont doesn’t mean their no good.
GMC/Chevy(same in my opinion)….QUALITY….dont beak down and when they do…easy to fix (cheaper parts too) LOVE the new body style (pricey tho) and they have the most horse power of all the diesels (assuming u go with that)
OBVIOUSLY I’m slanted towards GMC and Chevy…..but take this for what it is…MY opinions.
Tundra: Expensive, Cheap interior, Towing Concerns. Basically All Hype, don’t get unless if you want rebates
F-150: Ok, but is a little outdated.
Sliverado/Sierra: Great Value, Improved Reliability, Nice interior (BEST CHOICE!!!)
If you want reliability then toyota is your best bet. Chevy’s newer trucks also have decent relibility and parts are very cheap. However I’m really skeptical w/ toyota’s towing capability, as I’ve seen a tundra breaking down after trying to tow a boat to the lake nearby.
I dont recommend wasting the extra $$$ just to get the gmc badge, its basically just the same as the chevy.
Ford’s very popular, but I think its now overpriced and reliability hasnt improved much.
Overall I recommend the silverado. Also, have you considered a Nissan titan? its cheap and very reliable. I dont know much about its towing since nobody here owns one, but I think you should give it a try.
