  1. Dan S says:

in 73 there was a lot of changes in the trucks. 73-79 was that run, as far as motor or trans its all in what you know, you could put a 1930 ford motor in a 2009 if you wanted to.

most of the mechanical stuff would be the same…

  3. T/A says:

The only real difference in the trucks is the body and that is minimal.

The body style ran from 67 to 72

And the only difference between a F-100,F150,F-250 will be suspension, rear end, and steering. But all that could be interchanged as long as you change all of it

As long as they both have the same motor then yes most all the mechanicals will be the same.

I know they look a lot alike but if you will measure the width of the rear ends you will find that the 73 is about 3 inches wider at the spring mounts all the 1967 to 1972 trucks are wider in the front than the rear,if you have the same engine they will interchange, also in 1973 many of the f 100′s were being equipped with front disk brakes the 1972 would have to have been ordered with the front disk brakes and are probably drum brake equipped, you will find many smaller parts will work but most of the major parts will not including most body panels, motor and transmisson should.
