Can I jump start a 2001 Jeep Cherokee without damaging any internal electronic parts?

Posted on May 14th, 2010 in cherokee parts by

My Jeep Cherokee won’t start and whenever I try to open it through the romote control, try to turn the lights on, try to turn the ignition on etc. it simply won’t work.
I was thinking of jump starting it, but was afraid it might damage any internal processors or other electronics. Is it safe to proceed with jump starting?
I have a 2001 make Jeep Cherokee.
Thank you very much.

I have a 1997 Jeep Cherokee SE and it does not always start, Security issue?

Posted on April 24th, 2010 in cherokee accessories by

I put the key in an step on the brake and turn the key and it starts, other times I must step on the brake, turn the key to accessory, more the (auto) shifter to 3rd, then park and turn it to start it. Sometimes I have to do it like this and other times I just must put it into Neutral to start it. WHY? Is this a security issue or what?
Thanks in advance
Scott
PS I have manual windows and lock, no remote entry and nothing after market.

Jeep Grand Cherokee will once in a while crank but not start?

Posted on March 27th, 2010 in grand cherokee by

I have a 98 Grand Cherokee 5.2. A few times over the summer and a few times last week it will crank but not start on its own. After a long time of trying I can get it to stay running by keeping my foot on the gas a little bit after letting go of the key. The diagnostic system is fine, so it’s nothing that should trip a warning light on the dash, and it’s never stalled once running.
